One May Die So Lonely

Tell me your story, I’m listening this time
I can get us some glasses and a bottle of wine
We can sit on the carpet, sit on the table or sit on the moon

Verity by Colleen Hoover, is one of my favorite books. I can’t think of any other book that I constantly think about after reading. I read this last year and I’m still recommending it to everyone I know. You can purchase it from my Amazon recommendations here!

The description of the book reads below.

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin. When Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, asks Lowen to complete the remaining books in a contract his permanently injured wife is unable to fulfill, Lowen has no choice but to accept. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home with the intention of only staying one or two nights-long enough to sort through Verity’s chaotic home office to collect all the notes and outlines she’ll need to start writing the first novel. But the more time Lowen spends with Jeremy Crawford, the less of a hurry she is in to leave. While there, Lowen uncovers a hidden manuscript. An autobiography containing chilling admissions Verity planned to take to her grave, including the truth behind the events that turned their lives upside down. A truth that, if revealed to Jeremy, would further devastate the already grieving father. Lowen decides to keep the manuscript a secret, allowing Jeremy to continue to believe Verity is merely an innocent, unfortunate victim of circumstance. But as Lowen’s feelings for the devoted father and husband deepen, she wonders if keeping Jeremy in the dark is in her own best interest. After all, if Jeremy were to read his wife’s autobiography, the disturbing truth would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

There were so many twists in between and especially at the end, that makes you want to reread it all over and question everything you read! For lack of a better term, this was the definitely of a mindf*ck. After I finished this, I found so many communities discussing this book alone – you just HAVE to share your thoughts with someone, and it’s amazing to see how many readers felt the same way.

*SPOILER ALERT*

After you read this thriller, you’re either #TeamManuscript or #TeamLetter. Which do you believe is the truth? Or even neither? Jeremy or Lowen could have been fooling you this whole time; Was Verity innocent all along?

I’d like to believe the manuscript. Part of me wants to see justice for all of the terrible things we think Verity has done and that her murder wasn’t for nothing. To be a silent, innocent prisoner is so heartbreaking to imagine.

I haven’t heard of any plans for a sequel (which adds to this mystery) and makes this book even more spectacular. It’s a quick and easy read, and please reach out if you read this as well – would love to discuss further!

Colleen Hoover’s other book, It Ends With Us, is another great read – will post my review soon!
