Looking for COVID-safe outdoor activities, going to sunflower fields seem to be a popular one. While many went to Happy Day Farm in New Jersey, we decided to go to Waterdrinker Family Farm on Long Island.
There was an entry fee, but it was definitely worth it based on all of the family-friendly activities the farm had to offer. Besides all of the photo ops, you could cut down your own sunflowers to take home, the biggest bouncing jump pad I’ve ever seen, mini golf, large hamster wheels, mini trucks/mini bull pen, hay rides, and even barnyard animals!
We went with a couple of friends with babies around the same age, and we made the crazy decision to let one of the kids decide where to go in the corn maze! It wasn’t that bad, and only bumped into several dead ends, but at one point, we felt like we were in there forever! Eventually, we made it out – it was definitely fun but something I probably won’t do again anytime soon.
Overall, it was great summer activity after the many beach outings we had and it was nice doing something new.
